## Caption

From schoolyards to stock shows — Rick Avery, director of AgriLife Extension,  continues his south and west Texas visits with stops in Kinney, Edwards, Real, Frio and Atascosa counties.

In Kinney County, Dr. Avery visited Jones Elementary in Brackettville for Ag Day, where students explored the world of agriculture with County Extension Agent Bret Allen, Support Staff Bianca Pinales and Extension Specialist Liz Tidwell from Uvalde. 

He then traveled to Edwards County to a multi-county Natural Resources Youth Fair, where he met with Specialist Larry Highsmith, Edwards County Extension Agent James Crockett, and Real County Extension Agent Rainey Bingham. The fair highlighted the dedication of local educators and youth to conservation and land stewardship.

In Frio County, Dr. Avery visited the Extension office in Pearsall, where County Extension Agent Brianna Gonzales and Support Staff Cherie Allmand shared their impressive decorated tree display and introduced him to the Clover Kid garden project — a creative and educational space for younger 4-H participants.

Finally, in Atascosa County, Dr. Avery had a great chance to visit with County Extension Agent Dale Rankin and County Extension Agent Ashlie Stayton, recognizing their steady leadership and community engagement in communities from Pleasanton to Poteet! 

These stops reflect the rich variety of local Extension work happening daily — from classrooms to county fairs — and the passionate professionals driving it forward.
