This #EarthDay, we are in a universal state of mind with the TexasMasterNaturalistProgram! 

Kjell Lindgren, M.D., Mission Commander for the SpaceX Crew-4 shuttle, will lead his crew on a mission to the ISS sometime next week (depending on weather conditions!) Now you might be thinking, "That's really cool! But what does that have to do with Earth Day or Texas Master Naturalists?"

In addition to being a NASAAstronauts, Lindgren is a member of the TXGCMN 
chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists and has offered to host a #TMN webinar later this summer - from #space! To say we are "over the moon" excited to share Kjell's passion for the conservation of our blue planet is a real understatement (insert heart and earth emoji?)

Developed as a partnership between tamuagrilife Extension and texasparksandwildlife, Master Naturalists strive to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach and #service dedicated to the beneficial management of #naturalresources and natural areas within their #communities.

Did you know the mission patch for the crew is special as well and even has an Aggie connection? Designed by Lindgren's daughter Alexandra, a student at tamu, the patch has several elements that represent the crew members, their families and all those involved in the launch. The centerpiece of the design is a dragonfly, a nod to her father's dedication to the TMN program.
