Something to be aware of. If your gas water heater is getting older and you need to replace it after Jan 1 2027: it will no longer be allowed. You'll have to switch to an electric water heater. Unfortunately older homes may not have the capacity to handle an additional electric appliance. This may require expensive electrical work to update.
