## Caption

Ground squirrel gathering a bundle of leaves to carry back into the burrow. I thought it was cute 😊 Not sure if it was just wanting to stay warm or perhaps some nesting behavior. Some people view these guys as a nuisance animal but they are really important to our ecosystem - they are food for larger predators like Coyotes and Golden Eagles. And Burrowing owls rely on the squirrels to build their homes for them!
