Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to screen my documentary thesis film, “Second Mother.” It’s been a long time coming and I’m so happy that I was finally able to share it with everyone. The Chapman Women’s Basketball program has given me so much throughout my time at Chapman and I wanted this film to be a way of giving back to a program and community that has had such a big impact on my life.

I am extremely grateful to Coach Carol Jue for trusting me to tell her story and allowing me to step into some of the most personal parts of her life. Her story is inspiring, emotional, and vulnerable and in telling it, I learned so much about the deep care she has for her players and the sacrifice that comes with that level of devotion.

I would also like to thank each and every person who helped me throughout the making of this film. From the players, coaches, and athletic staff to my creative team, advisors, and classmates - this project would not have been possible without you.

This was an incredibly rewarding experience, both creatively and personally, and I am so excited to continue telling stories like this one!
