After more than 30 years together, Aqua, the Danish-Norwegian dance-pop group behind the iconic 1997 smash hit 'Barbie Girl' have officially announced they’re calling it quits as a live band.⁣

In a statement posted on their social media, the group shared: “After many incredible years, we have decided to close the chapter of AQUA as a live band.”⁣

Reflecting on decades of touring the world, meeting fans, and performing for millions, Aqua said the decision comes from knowing “when it’s time to protect what you’ve created together.”⁣

The band is ending this chapter while “the memories are still strong, and while the love for the music, the story, and each other remains intact.”⁣
