Congratulations to our 2026 Alberta Milk Scholarship Winner, Owen Senneker!

From Coaldale Christian School, Owen is a decorated multi-sport athlete. His leadership and work ethic sets a standard of excellence among his fellow teammates. The March Alberta Milk Athlete of the Month demonstrated just as much, captaining the Coaldale Christian Boys Basketball to a 3A provincial championship victory this season. When speaking on adversity, Owen reflects on how injuries adjusted his mindset while maintaining commitment to his goals:

“When something you love is taken away, it puts everything into perspective. This experience taught me that challenges require patience, resilience, and determination. Despite this setback, I focused on recovery, continued coaching, and worked hard to return in time for basketball Zones and Provincials.”

Athletic Director Duane Konynenbelt reflects on Owen’s approach to life on and off the court as a strong representation of School Sport Alberta's commitment to competition and sportsmanship:
 “Owen’s leadership is evident throughout the school community. He plays an active role in student leadership, including involvement in school government and the school’s political action group. He is an organizer and motivator, consistently stepping forward to contribute to school initiatives and encourage those around him.”
