🏆 Introducing the 2026 SECA Art Award recipients: CrossLypka, Em Kettner, and Chanell Stone

Since 1967, SFMOMA’s SECA Art Award has highlighted Bay Area artists in the early stages of their careers—providing a platform through exhibition, publication, and institutional support. Focused on uplifting local and emerging voices, the award reflects SFMOMA’s ongoing commitment to the creative community that shapes the region. 🎨🌉

Working across sculpture, photography, textiles, and installation, this year’s artists bring distinct perspectives on connection between bodies, landscapes, and history.

🌀 CrossLypka (crosslypka) 
Life partners, Tyler Cross and Kyle Lypka, translate collaboration itself into form, creating sculptural works shaped by balance, symmetry, and the lived experience of making together in Northern California.

🧵 Em Kettner (em_kettner) 
Em Kettner’s intimate and often humorous works reimagine the tradition of votive objects, centering interdependence and the ingenuity of disabled communities through sculpture, tapestry, and drawing.

📷 Chanell Stone (___califia) 
Chanell Stone’s interdisciplinary practice explores the body as both material and terrain—mapping memory, place, and Black American presence through photography, poetry, and beyond.
