Road Warrior Animal's widow Kim Turman Laurinaitis says she was not contacted for the A&E Road Warriors Biography despite being his wife at the time of his death, and she has publicly disputed major details the documentary got wrong about how he died.

"His actual wife, the one that was with him the night he died and years before, was not contacted to film, believe it or not. The one that pays for the trademarks and works to continue his wishes and legacy with the LOD Experience. This is disgusting, literally disgusting, at his expense. I will not be quiet anymore. Shame on all involved."

She says the documentary wrongly portrayed him as dying in a hospital. "This is not how my husband died. He died on 9/22 at our hotel, not a hospital. They never took him to a f--king hospital. Had to try to save him in our hotel room. I was the only one there with paramedics. I held him for over an hour trying to wait for his daughters to get there before they transported him to a funeral home."

Joe Laurinaitis died on September 22, 2020 at the Margaritaville Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri, where he and Kim were celebrating their third wedding anniversary. Kim was the only family member present when paramedics arrived. This detail has been widely reported and confirmed by the Wrestling Observer and TMZ at the time.

The A&E episode included interviews with Animal's second wife Julia, Paul Ellering, Paul Heyman, Bret Hart, Lex Luger, and Hawk's brothers. Kim was not among them.

She also addressed what she says was broader disrespect her husband experienced in his final years. "Let's talk about the struggles and how much he went through and cried over the past 10 years about how he had been treated by the people he loved so much."

A&E and WWE have not publicly responded. Kim Turman Laurinaitis continues to manage the LOD Experience and the Road Warriors trademark rights.
