Swedish designer Beata Rydbacken (beatarydbacken) was five when she made her first dress from a pillowcase. Twenty years later, she has become quite a phenomenon, going viral with her 'big clip hoodie' and dressing pop stars (Zara Larsson as well 🤩).

Yes, Rosalía (rosalia.vt) now wears Beata's hat during her song 'Saoko', on her Lux Tour. 'A slightly surreal experience', according to the designer herself.

The viral hoodie design was born by chance. Beata wanted to make an accessory in the shape of an oversized hair clip, but tried it on a jacket without a zip and realised that it worked perfectly. 💁‍♀️

Beata's playful esthetics are the results of traditional schooling in combination with curiosity and intuition. By treating hair like any other material and using large clips to close a hoodie, she transforms nostalgia into futuristic-looking fashion statements.
