We are excited to announce that our Friday Night and Saturday morning Hook in 2  Hockey Come and Try will both have a special guest.  Our own Australian Players will join our Hook in 2 Hockey - Hockeyoo Amy Lawton on Friday, and Kookaburra Craig Marais on Saturday Morning.
 
Southern United player Amy Lawton, currently part of the Australian Hockeyroos squad, two times Olympian and Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist will join us. 
Amy started playing at Southern United as a 9 year old, part of our junior program. She moved through the ranks playing in our Premier League women's team, before making her Hockeyroos Debut at the age of 17, and becoming a permanent member of the Hockeyroos squad at 18.  

Craig Marais joined the Kookaburras squad in 2022 at the age of 20, and has been the youngest member of the squad for some time.  Craig has just returned from Australian Pro-League games in Sydney and Argentina playing Netherlands, Spain, Argentina and Belgium.
Craig like Amy joined Southern in the Minkies program (as the Hook in 2 Hockey program was known back then), playing for Southern all through his junior career, and joining our premier league squad.

With a busy schedule of international hockey, it is always exciting to see Amy and Craig at the club, either playing, or encouraging our younger players in their dreams.

Craig and Amy were part of our premiership winning Under 14 shield (A grade) team in 2014, and our winning Under 16 shield team in 2018. Craig was also part of the premiership winning men's Premier League team in 2018, 2019 and 2024.
