Guess what?! This little güerita from the barrio of El Paso is going to be on Food Network 🥳

I’m officially a contestant on #100cooks the biggest home cooking competition of all time, premiering Sunday, June 7th at 9/8c on foodnetwork 

Saying yes to this opportunity meant so much more to me than just being on television. I said yes because I wanted to represent where I come from and the generations before me. I grew up next door to my grandma, who migrated from Chihuahua during the Mexican Revolution, and so much of who I am in the kitchen comes from her. In our family, food was never just food. It was love, survival, tradition, sacrifice, storytelling, and pride.

I was also raised by a hardworking single mother who taught me how to luchar, work hard, keep going, and never forget where I come from. Between my mom and grandma, I learned that resilience lives in the kitchen just as much as love does.

I wanted people to see that home cooks matter and that family recipes passed down in real kitchens deserve to be celebrated too. I wanted to represent Mexican food with heart, culture, and authenticity while making my ancestors proud.

Walking into this competition was honestly terrifying 😂 but also one of the proudest moments of my life. And somehow I’m contestant #6 standing right behind terrycrews as our host while getting judged by guarnaschelli and nick.digiovanni Truly surreal.
