There was a season of my life where not making the 2016 Summer Olympics felt like proof that I had failed.

I thought the opportunity had passed me by. That everyone else was moving forward while I was stuck rebuilding.

But looking back now, that setback shaped me more than any medal or finish line ever could.

It forced me to become more resilient. More resourceful. More patient. It taught me how to keep showing up when things weren’t guaranteed to work out.

And I think a lot of us experience that in different ways.

The promotion you didn’t get.
The business idea that stalled.
The season where it feels like everyone else is ahead.

Don’t assume a setback means you’re done.

Sometimes it’s preparing you for a version of yourself you couldn’t become any other way.
