There are certain moments in life that stay with you forever.

Sitting down with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Bangalore, India for his 70th birthday celebration was one of those moments for me.

Millions of people around the world know Gurudev as a spiritual leader, humanitarian, peace ambassador, and founder of The Art of Living Foundation. But beyond all the titles, what I’ve always admired most about him is his extraordinary presence, compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to uplifting humanity.

Years ago, during some of the darkest and most transformational periods of my life, Gurudev’s teachings profoundly impacted my journey. His wisdom around breath, meditation, service, consciousness, and inner peace helped me reconnect to parts of myself I had lost through trauma, addiction, stress, and suffering.

Like so many others, I came to realize that true healing is not just physical.

It’s emotional.
Mental.
Spiritual.
Energetic.

And one of the most powerful lessons Gurudev embodies is that peace is not something we find outside ourselves. It is something we cultivate within.

To travel to India, celebrate this milestone with thousands of beautiful souls from around the world, and have the opportunity to sit down and speak with him personally was an experience I’ll deeply cherish.

The conversation reminded me that no matter how chaotic the world becomes, practices like breathwork, meditation, service, compassion, and self-awareness still have the power to transform lives.

Grateful beyond words for this opportunity, for the wisdom shared, and for teachers who dedicate their lives to helping humanity awaken.
