Georgia’s history of racial terror did not stop at grown men.

It reached children too.

Emma Mike and Lillie Mike were little Black girls in Calhoun County, Georgia. One of them was only four years old.

And today, most Georgians have never heard their names.

That is part of the tragedy too.

Because racial terror in the South was not only about punishment. It was about sending fear through entire Black communities, generation after generation, until silence became survival.

But these children existed. 
Their lives mattered. 
And their names deserve to be spoken out loud.
