After three days — the last of which turned commutes into marathons for some — the MTA and unions agreed to a new deal that will end the Long Island Rail Road strike.

The two sides reached a deal Monday night. Because the deal was reached so late in the day, there won’t be enough time to get everything ready for Tuesday’s morning rush hour.
