The Greenwood County Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, May 26, to discuss amending the area's zoning ordinance for data centers.

The potential changes would establish "data centers" as a conditional use within heavy industrial, light industrial, and rural development districts. The discussions would also introduce strict guidelines for data centers.

Even with no data center proposals submitted to the county, the measure is being considered.
