#LinkedInPartner I run a 35-person company, and hiring as a small business owner is the most stressful thing I do.

When you only hire a few people a year, every single one matters. But I’m reviewing applicants between meetings, on flights, at 11pm. I know I’m not giving every candidate the depth they deserve. That’s how bad hires happen.

What got me was how specific the matches were. Real-time skills, recent career moves, the kind of evaluation a recruiter would spend hours on.

That shortlist lets me focus on the candidates who are already qualified for the role so I can spend my time and energy determining if they’re a good fit for the specific needs of my business. 

One of the candidates on my first shortlist was someone I would have scrolled right past on paper.
