The Foundation – Morehouse Legacy

“I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.
But it’s up to me to use it.”

Four years ago, I walked into Graves Hall during NSO just excited, nervous, and ready to start something bigger than myself. That same week, life tested me in a way I didn’t expect. I had an asthma attack. Following this, I wanted to transfer and go home with my family. However, I’ll never forget being carried out of Graves, looking up, and seeing my Graves Hall brothers lined on the stairs, cheering me on as I was being rushed to the hospital. ❤️

In a moment where I was questioning everything, even whether Morehouse was the place for me, that brotherhood gave me my answer. I was exactly where I needed to be.

Since August 7th, 2022… Room 303 to now, this journey has changed me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Through NSO, leadership roles, campus involvement, mentoring, service, public speaking, late nights, early mornings, wins, losses, and everything in between. I gave my all to this institution.

I’ve been blessed to pour into this campus through every organization, every room, every opportunity to lead and serve. In return, Morehouse poured into me, shaping me into the man I knew I would one day become. 🐐✨

Morehouse didn’t just educate me… it BUILT me.

As I transition from a Man of Morehouse to a Morehouse Man, I carry this foundation with me forever.

To my underclassmen brothers, I leave you with this:
