London’s Saviour felt like fakemink building an entirely new version of UK underground rap from his bedroom. Released in 2023 and fully self-produced, the album mixed cloud rap, house, jerk, and warped internet pop into something that barely sounded tied to traditional London rap at all. Fakemink himself said he named it London’s Saviour because he wanted to challenge the state of London music and force people to look at a new direction. The project felt dreamy, playful, isolated, and strangely intimate, like music made behind blackout curtains for an audience that accidentally found its way in. Songs from that era helped establish him as one of the defining artists of the UK underground explosion. 

Terrified feels like what happens after that world suddenly gets too big. Since London’s Saviour, fakemink’s rise has become chaotic: viral hits like “Easter Pink,” Drake, Frank Ocean, and Playboi Carti co-signs, festival stages, fashion campaigns, and nonstop internet attention. The music around Terrified still carries the same hazy melodies and psychedelic atmosphere, but now there’s paranoia, pressure, and fame sitting underneath it. fakemink described the album as deeply personal, with longtime collaborator GhostInnaFurCoat helping shape the titles and emotional direction. 

Where London’s Saviour sounded like someone hiding from the world, Terrified sounds like someone trying to process what happens after the world finally finds them 💎
