#TakeActionTuesday: This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are putting a spotlight on the impact of eating disorders on athletes.

Sports can be empowering for girls and women, but they can also bring intense pressures around body image which can lead to harmful behaviors, such as overtraining and skipping meals. A recent study found that 75% of women collegiate athletes say their sport negatively affects their relationship with food.

Many people struggling with eating disorders do not realize what they are experiencing. We’re collaborating with the National Alliance for Eating Disorders (alliancefored) to raise awareness of the signs of disordered eating and how we can support those around us. #TheEquityProject #MentalHealthMonth

Your Turn:
1. Use free resources from the National Alliance for Eating Disorders to support loved ones and help shift the culture around athlete well-being.

2. Urge your school administrators and community leaders to learn the signs of eating disorders and commit to creating environments where athletes can speak up and get support.

3. If you or someone you know is struggling with behaviors associated with disordered eating, call The Alliance's therapist-staffed helpline at 866-662-1235.
