In 1954, the first live TV broadcast of Miss America brought 27 million Americans to the screen. Moreover, it achieved an all-time high in 1961 with an estimated 69 million viewers. 

However, in 2019 Miss America saw an audience of only 3.61 million, a decrease of 17% from the previous year.
