Ottawa police say a driver was clocked going 166 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 417 near March Road.

Police say the vehicle belonged to the driver’s mother, who was sitting in the passenger seat at the time of the stop.

As a result, the vehicle was impounded for 14 days and the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days on the spot. A stunt driving charge in Ontario can also bring major penalties if convicted, including hefty fines, demerit points, and a potential driving ban.

Safe to say that drive home conversation probably wasn’t fun
