The legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours recently delivered pure motorsport comedy when a humble, 280-horsepower Dacia Logan econobox managed to hold up four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen.

Because of a strict “Code 60” yellow-flag speed limit that banned overtaking, Verstappen’s high-tech Mercedes-AMG GT3 was forced to crawl helplessly behind the boxy commuter car.

The ultimate irony came at the finish line: while a mechanical failure knocked Verstappen’s dominant team out of contention, the heavily penalized and battered Dacia survived the brutal endurance race to the very end.
