I just gave birth to baby number 7 and am in the sleep deprived trenches and felt many moms in the same season need to hear this. 💕

For so long I tried to do everything “right.”
Put the baby down.
In a safe spot.
Alone.
On their back.
Drowsy but awake.
All the things we’re told from day one.

Meanwhile my baby had spent nine months being part of me. They only knew my heartbeat, my breath, my warmth. And suddenly I was supposed to place them in a crib during their first moments on earth and expect them to adjust. I tried. I really did. But I was beyond exhausted. Falling asleep sitting up, in a chair, on the couch. The exact unsafe situations everyone warns us about.

Learning about the Safe Sleep Seven helped me understand how to approach bed sharing in the safest way possible. 

Parenting is risk assessment from the moment your child arrives. There are risks to everything. Even driving with the safest car seat in the world carries risk. Our job is to research, understand why guidelines exist, and make the best decision for our own family.

That’s why I finally made this video. Not to convince anyone to co-sleep. Not to say it’s for everyone. But to talk about something so many mothers quietly do because they’re desperate for sleep, yet feel unable to say out loud.

Motherhood becomes a lifelong pattern of weighing risks and benefits. This is simply one of those moments, and we need more open conversations so moms stop suffering alone.

Research. Ask questions. Trust yourself. You are capable of making the best choices for your family. 💕
