Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he was “deeply moved” after receiving China’s Friendship Medal from President Xi Jinping during a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.⁣

The Friendship Medal is China’s highest state honour for foreign nationals and recognises contributions to cooperation, exchange and global peace. Vucic called the award “one of the most important moments” of his life and pledged to continue strengthening Serbia-China ties.⁣
⁣
The ceremony was attended by officials, students and representatives from both countries as Beijing and Belgrade continue expanding political and economic cooperation. Vucic is currently on a state visit to China — his ninth trip to the country overall.⁣
