I am always of an active stick, but what I really love is the read on this play. The shooter is extended and, even being a left shot, was never really in a position to shoot. He telegraphed his intention to cut through the front of the net and this is a strong and aggressive play to neutralize the threat. To play at an elite level, your ability to prevent opportunities is just as important as your ability to stop pucks.
