This is what happens when I get hyper from the sun in my van

*Two disclaimers * I filmed this last Friday when the sun first made an appearance. In this heat wave it would look more like me melting and whispering ‘help’. The van is no joke in a heatwave, getting to sleep is like trying to sleep in a sauna 

Secondly, I’m not this gassed for van life (sometimes, but it comes with lots of downfalls that’s a bigger discussion). I am this gassed that such a simple thing like being able have your tiny living space so open to nature, is so enjoyable! I don’t have many belongings, the space is tiny, and yet laying in the back of my tiny space looking at the birds and a field really does bring me so much joy. All it takes a little bit of sun and maybe a wild animal or two to look at. 

Someone recently took offence on one of my videos for making van life look desirable. Whilst there’s a place for taking ownership over adding to a trend and acknowledging that documenting a lifestyle that is not supported in the UK can cause issues. I think the real question is why are more people craving a simpler life, and why are there so many barriers preventing people from doing so. We dont all want to, nor can everyone afford to buy a new build that is poorly made, crammed into another town. 

Why do so many of us want to reconnect to nature, buy a plot of land with our friends, grow veg, and build tiny homes? 

But alas owning a small piece of land to grow some veg and getting planning permission to build a tiny home isn’t so simple
