Part 2 of giving birth to my 7th baby!

Walking you through the entire labor and delivery of baby 7 with real-time timestamps 💕 I truly thought I had weeks left before giving birth… but within hours, my OB was telling me to pack a hospital bag and get childcare for our six kids because I may be having this baby THAT day 😳

Even though this was my 7th baby, this birth completely shocked me and reminded me that every pregnancy and delivery is different.

At 38 weeks pregnant, I developed a severe headache that would not go away, even after taking Tylenol. Since I normally go close to 42 weeks, I truly believed I still had weeks left before meeting this baby.

I almost waited until my OB appointment later that day to mention the headache, but something told me to call sooner.

After hearing my symptoms, my OB immediately told me:
“Pack a hospital bag and get childcare for your kids. I’m concerned and you may possibly be having this baby today.”

That sentence alone sent us into complete chaos 😅

At triage, my blood pressure kept fluctuating between normal and high, and I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension. Although my labs did not show protein in my urine, my doctor felt strongly that remaining pregnant could quickly progress into preeclampsia, so we moved forward with an induction.

After a long night of contractions, zero sleep, multiple rounds of induction medication, and feeling convinced nothing was progressing… active labor suddenly hit FAST. From active labor to delivering my baby was only about 15 minutes.

Even after seven births, I still get nervous every single time because birth is so unpredictable. But this experience reminded me again how incredible women’s bodies are ❤️
