Britney recorded the song for her movie Crossroads after her character performed it during a karaoke scene and because she was already a huge fan of the original. ⁣

The music video was peak early-2000s, Britney in black leather, motorcycles, electric guitars, flashing lights, and full rockstar energy. Directed by Chris Applebaum, the video was filmed inside a Long Island bar and switched between black-and-white and colour shots throughout. Britney even smashed a guitar into a wall of speakers, causing confetti to explode everywhere. ⁣

Fans later discovered “Ben” written on Britney’s hand in the video was a nod to Anson Mount’s Crossroads character. Also, the video became so iconic that MTV Latin America ranked it among the best videos of 2002. 🎥✨ ⁣
