Changes are here for the Philadelphia Union’s coaching staff. 

The Union fired head coach Bradley Carnell Wednesday, according to an announcement by the team. 

As the club searches for a replacement, Ryan Richter will become interim head coach. Jon Scheer will take over as sporting director.

Carnell was hired in 2025 as the fourth head coach in the club’s history after managing St. Louis SC for two seasons. 

Carnell is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. The Union’s next match is on July 22 against the New York Red Bulls.
