Outstanding Club Award 🌹

Huge congratulations to warwickwomensrugby 🏆

On the pitch they won Midlands Tier 2, securing promotion and winning the BUCS Conference Cup for the second consecutive year. 

As well as introducing a Development Squad to support the large number of beginner players joining the club. Dedicated development training sessions and friendly fixtures have created accessible pathways into the sport and ensured all players have opportunities to develop and compete. Also reestablishing a Varsity fixture against Coventry with a Friday Night lights event selling over 600 spectator tickets, and the club also hosted an Inner Warrior Series event for the first time. 

All their efforts throughout the year and over their fresher period led to an accelerated growth in club membership, nearly doubling in members over the course of the season.  

Off the pitch they have developed relationships with local teams, Kenilworth RFC and Leamington RFC to provide additional coaching and playing opportunities for their students. The collaborative efforts of this club also spanned to working with the women’s cricket and football teams to deliver ‘Women in Male Dominated Sport Week’, which also resulted in raising over £1000 for the ‘Her Game Too’ campaign. 

The club also donated to a local food back through a reverse advent calendar and raised over £200 for Make 2nd’s Count. 

This club clearly embodies RFU values and has gone above and beyond this year to provide an incredible student experience. ❤️
