I am deeply honored to join AMERICAN DOCTOR as an Executive Producer.

This film moved me profoundly. It is brutal and beautiful and necessary. It tells the truth.

When I watched it for the first time, I kept thinking of something our beloved friend Andrea Gibson used to say: “Even when the truth isn’t hopeful — the telling of it is.”

The film follows three physicians — Palestinian, Jewish, and Zoroastrian, bound by their shared oath to save lives — from a hospital under siege in Gaza to the halls of Congress.

At the heart of it is our friend Dr. Thaer Ahmad — one of the most courageous, compassionate humans I know. Relentlessly devoted to humanity in a world that keeps asking us to choose sides instead of choosing people. His hope is the kind that keeps showing up anyway. The only kind of hope I want.

This film exists because of extraordinary people — especially the team who risked everything to bear witness so this story could be told.

I am producing because I believe storytelling can widen our circles of belonging. Because witness matters. Because truth matters. Because people matter. And because I want to stand beside artists and truth tellers — like director Poh Si Teng — brave enough to look directly at suffering and still insist on humanity.

Thank you to everyone who made this offering possible. I am honored to walk alongside you.

And it gives me hope that this film is already being met with such acclaim and recognition. In a “post truth” time — I want to create and live amongst those who refuse to abandon the truth —  or each other.
