The Criterion Mobile Closet officially docked in downtown Portland Friday morning — bringing with it a commendable DVD collection and growing crowd of cinephiles.

The traveling version of esteemed film distributor criterioncollection, the closet offers film buffs a brief chance to browse wall-to-wall discs and record their own versions of the popular celebrity Criterion Closet Picks video series.

Each group gets three minutes in the truck, along with a Polaroid taken by a Criterion staff member and up to three items for 40% off.

Friday was the first of three chances to visit the Criterion Mobile Closet in Portland. The truck will also be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
