Bentornato 🥹❤️

Trainer Jose D’Angelo has confirmed that last year’s GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner Bentornato (Valiant Minister) will make his next start in the GIII True North Stakes on June 6 at Saratoga. He’ll once again face off with Book’em Danno, the #NJBred son of Bucchero who nosed Bentornato out for the sprint championship last year.

The two have not met since the 2024 G3 Saudi Derby, in which Book’em Danno was second and Bentornato was third.

Last time out, Bentornato finished second in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen. We last saw Book’em Danno in the April 4 GII Carter Stakes, where the 5-year-old gelding finished second.

“He’s been doing great at Churchill. He spent all of last summer in Saratoga, so we know he likes it there, too. The 6 1/2 furlongs should be good for him,” said D’Angelo of Bentornato.
