Gold Award Girl Scout Tynsley is helping more young Black girls see themselves in classical dance. 💛

Through her project, Inspiring Melanated Movement, Tynsley created inclusive creative movement and introductory classical dance classes in a fun, judgment-free environment. She also partnered with dance companies and dancers to introduce participants to influential Black performers and expand representation within classical dance spaces.

Inspired by her own experiences navigating underrepresentation in dance, Tynsley focused on creating more access, visibility, and encouragement for the next generation of young dancers. ✨
