Most people know the 19th Amendment officially made women’s voting rights law nationwide in 1920 — but Arizona had already approved women’s suffrage back in November 1912.

That was just months after Arizona became a state, meaning women here had the right to vote eight years before it became protected nationwide.

A little Arizona history a lot of people never learned in school.
