A recent Arizona State University graduate passed away after a tragic incident at the Salt River over the holiday weekend.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a missing person report on the Salt River around 3:15 p.m. Saturday.

The man was later identified as 22-year-old Sahr Sewah.
After an extensive search, deputies found him in the river the following day just after noon.

According to a GoFundMe created by a family member, Sahr had recently graduated from ASU on May 12 and was tubing with friends when the incident happened.

MCSO has not confirmed whether he was tubing, and officials said the official cause is still undetermined at this time.
The GoFundMe described Sahr as a kind, warm, and loving young man who touched many lives.

Just an incredibly heartbreaking situation, especially with him having just reached such a major milestone. Prayers up for his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
