A symphony accompanied by whisky at Carnegie Hall. What followed was harmony in every sense of the word.

Recently, suntoryglobal returned to carnegiehall for an evening where music met craftsmanship—the latest chapter in a 40+ year partnership. Guided by jamesbowkerdrinks, guests explored Hibiki Japanese Harmony not simply through tasting, but through sound: each component whisky was paired with a musical role performed live by Ensemble Connect through Brahms’ String Quintet No. 2, revealing how individual layers come together to create harmony.

The pairing was especially fitting. Hibiki was originally inspired by Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 and built on the same philosophy: distinct elements, carefully layered, becoming something greater than the sum of their parts.

Created to mark Suntory’s 90th anniversary, Hibiki has always embodied a simple belief—that harmony is not just a metaphor, but something you can taste, hear, and feel.
