Space stopped looking like science fiction this week and started looking like geopolitics with rocket fuel.

NASA just handed Blue Origin a major role in the emerging lunar economy. The signal is massive. Washington no longer wants a one company moon monopoly.

At the same time China launched Shenzhou 23 with plans for a year long human mission in orbit. This is not symbolic. China is building the biological and operational foundation for a permanent lunar presence before 2035.

The new space race is no longer about flags and footprints.

It is about supply chains.
Orbital manufacturing.
Lunar mining rights.
Energy positioning.
Deep space logistics.
And eventually who governs off world civilization.

Meanwhile Artemis keeps evolving and Starship’s exact role remains uncertain. That uncertainty is becoming the signal itself. Governments are shifting from singular mega bets toward modular redundancy.
