Also known as the Festival of the Sacrifice, it is one of the most important events in the Islamic calendar.
 
The occasion marks the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage and is observed as a time of reflection, sacrifice and gratitude.
 
Eid al-Adha usually lasts between three and four days.
