I meant to post this yesterday.

But June 1st was our boys’ two-month birthday, and I sat with that for a minute and realized that IS the Pride post.

Two moms. Five kids. Twin boys who are eight weeks old and already smiling at us like they know exactly who they are and exactly where they belong.

This family is Pride.

It started 19 years ago with a first kiss on a beach in Tel Aviv. Before we were even together. Before we knew what we were building. Two Jewish girls, on the coast of Israel, beginning something we couldn’t yet name.

All these years later we have a life that is proudly, fully, unapologetically both things at once: queer and Jewish. Gay and Zionist. LGBTQ+ and deeply, roots-in-the-ground connected to our people, our faith, and the land where our love story began.

We’ve watched some spaces try to tell us those identities are in tension. That we have to choose. That loving another woman and loving Israel and loving being Jewish can’t coexist in the same body, the same family, the same life.

Our family is the answer to that.

We are here because people before us were visible when visibility was dangerous. Because they marched when marching had a cost. Because they refused to disappear. Because the laws that let us build this family — the legal rights, the protections, the ability to both be on a birth certificate — were fought for by people who came before us and never stopped fighting.

We don’t take that lightly. We never will.

To anyone still hiding: we see you.
To anyone told your identities can’t coexist: they can. We’re proof.
To our five kids who will grow up knowing exactly who their moms are and exactly what their family is built on: we hope we make you proud.

Happy Pride Month. A day late and completely, fully, here. 🏳️‍🌈✡️
