Anna Lambe (Inuk, Iqaluit) accepted the Canadian Screen Award for Best Lead Performer, Comedy for her role as Siaja in North of North.

Lambe traced her journey from The Grizzlies at 15 to North of North at 22 — thanking creators Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, along with executive producer and Grizzlies director Miranda de Pencier, for the way they "lead with integrity, with heart, the way you represent our communities."

"Inuit do not just exist within a historical context. We are real, we are here, we are thriving — beautiful communities."

Lambe also reflected on the show's making in Nunavut — shot on a soundstage built inside a curling rink in a community without film infrastructure, carried by a crew she described as "so dedicated."

"I love being Inuk. I love being from Nunavut."

North of North won 9 Canadian Screen Awards on the night, including Best Comedy Series.
