The Kremlin has said fighting in Ukraine could end “before the end of the day” if Kyiv’s forces withdraw from what Moscow calls Russian territories.⁣

Speaking on Tuesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia preferred to achieve its goals through “peace negotiations”, but warned that military operations would continue if what he described as delays or a lack of “genuine” talks persisted.⁣

He also said that if Kyiv carried out what he called inhumane attacks on civilians, it would represent a “different paradigm”, adding that Russian strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure and cities would continue.⁣

Ukrainian authorities said Russian strikes overnight involving drones and missiles hit multiple cities, including Kyiv, killing at least 18 civilians and injuring more than 100 others.⁣
