Romania will expel the Russian consul in the southeastern city of Constanta and shut down the consulate, Romanian President Nicusor Dan said on Friday, after a drone fell on the roof of a block of flats and caused an explosion.⁣

Romania's defense ministry said a woman and a child suffered minor injuries after a Russian drone hit a building in Galati, a city near the border with Ukraine overnight.⁣

Dan said that until Romania upgrades its air defenses, it has agreements with NATO allies for some equipment to be relocated to the country.⁣

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday that all the accusations about Russian drones flying in Europe were unsubstantiated and that no evidence had been provided.⁣
