The leader of a Thai rescue team said his volunteers found five of the seven people trapped in a Laos cave on Wednesday. ⁣

The seven Lao nationals entered the cave in central Laos's Xaisomboun province last week to look for gold, but a landslide triggered by heavy rain blocked their exit, according to a local volunteer group and the state-run Lao Phattha News.⁣
⁣
Volunteer groups gave differing accounts of how many of the trapped people had been located.⁣
⁣
Kengkard Bongawong, head of the Metta Tham Kalasin Rescue, said that his team will search for the remaining two on Thursday.⁣
⁣
But the Laos "Rescue Volunteer for People" organization said all seven had been located and were safe.⁣
