According to KCNA, the tests assessed a "special mission warhead" on tactical ballistic missiles, long-range multiple-launch artillery rockets, and cruise missiles with precision navigation and AI-guided control capable of striking targets up to 100 kilometers away. Seoul lies within that range of the border.⁣

The Republic of Korea's military detected multiple projectiles on Tuesday, including at least one short-range ballistic missile that flew about 80 kilometers. KCNA said Kim expressed satisfaction with the performance of the cruise missile systems and called for faster modernization of artillery forces near the border so that "no one can match."⁣

Kim has accelerated efforts to modernize the country's nuclear and missile capabilities since diplomacy with the US collapsed in 2019, and has strengthened front-line units along the border. ⁣
