Build/Use a tracker early.
One tab for roles + deadlines, one for networking contacts, and one for follow-ups.
→ Without a clear system, you’ll forget people, miss deadlines, and lose momentum.

DM Linkedin with intention.
Instead of saying “Hi, I’m looking for an internship,” show you’ve done your homework.
→ Mention a recent deal, their role, or even their uni — it makes your message 10x more likely to get answered.

Understand the roles.
Don’t just apply to “finance.” Learn the difference between IBD, S&T, AM, etc.
→ If you can’t explain what a desk does in 2 sentences, you’re not ready for the interview.

Show proof of work.
Post a stock pitch, build a watchlist, or break down an earnings call.
→ Just one solid project can set you apart from 90% of applicants.

Banks open applications as early as August/September, so if you wait until January, you’re already too late.
