Great news: We will receive $1 million in federal funding to support a new pediatric blood disorder research center at our #Oakland hospital!
Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (replsimon), who sadly lost her husband to a rare form of blood cancer, secured the funding for the center, which will help us continue our long legacy of advancing care for children with #sicklecell disease, #leukemia, #thalassemia and other blood disorders. 
"This investment will build on our longstanding commitment to Oakland and our ability to deliver the very best care for generations to come,” hospital president Dr. Nicholas Holmes says.
