Lymphatic drainage is not massage. It is drainage.
One of the biggest mistakes practitioners make is using too much pressure. The lymphatic vessels are extremely delicate and sit just beneath the skin. When excessive pressure is applied, these vessels can become compressed, making it more difficult for fluid to move efficiently.
Instead of encouraging drainage, heavy pressure may push fluid deeper into the tissues, where it can contribute to congestion and swelling. The surrounding muscles and connective tissues can become overloaded with fluid, making it harder to achieve the refreshed, sculpted appearance we are looking for.
Effective lymphatic drainage is about precision, direction, and a feather light touch. When performed correctly, fluid moves more efficiently, puffiness decreases, and the results become visible by the end of the treatment.
Gentle is not weak. Gentle is often what makes lymphatic drainage effective.
